Arthur Ashe was not only a leader on the tennis courts but also in the civil rights movements. He once said that “success is the journey not a destination” just as he lived his life based on these principals Arthur Ashe Charter School also believes in creating an environment in which the journey for a student obtaining an education is done in a positive environment that enables them to grow and thrive. Arthur Ashe also collaborates with the non-profit Edible Schoolyard which provides students with an opportunity to participate in gardening and cooking projects that provide children with hands on experience related to their class work. Through these projects children about science, responsibility, teamwork and many other life skills that they can apply not just in the classroom but in the real world.

Mission- The mission of S.J Green and Arthur Ashe Charter Schools is to produce high student achievement in an environment that promotes healthy academic, social and emotional growth of young children and adolescents.
